Summary:
The Department of Surgery at the University of Colorado, School of Medicine, in conjunction with the University of Colorado Hospital, is recruiting an extramurally funded (or fundable) basic or translational investigator with expertise in coagulation and inflammation biology to join the Division of GI, Trauma & Endocrine Surgery, TACS Section for a 1.
0 FTE position available at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor.
Candidates must be extramurally funded or show promise of extramural funding and have a track record scientific productivity, mentoring, teaching and national or international reputation in the field of post trauma coagulation and inflammation biology.
The Trauma Research Lab and Critical Illness and Injury Research Center (CIIRC) at the University of Colorado is a world leader in the study of post trauma and threat X biology, physiology and clinical practice.
We offer a academic environment which allows for a history of funding and scientific discovery, access to clinical sampling, trials and data and a collaborative environment across the University of Colorado consisting of a investigators and clinicians across the Department of Surgery as well as other departments at the Anschutz Medical Center and across the larger University of Colorado.
CIIRC represents the go to group for big science approaches to critical illness and injury research.
This is a faculty position as an open rank position of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor, depending on the candidate's experience and education.
The candidate should also demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills.

Qualifications:
Minimum
Qualifications:
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
Assistant Professor:
MD or PhD from an accredited graduate school or school of medicine.
Evidence of independent scientific achievement (completion of mentored research award) with trajectory or achievement of independent (R or equivalent) funding.
Associate Professor:
Current or past faculty appointment as an Assistant or Associate Professor in an academic medical institution.

years' experience as extramurally funded scientist National leadership in related science.
Professor:
Current or past faculty appointment as an Associate Professor or Professor in an academic medical institution.

years' experience as extramurally funded scientist.
National and international leadership in related science.
Preferred Qualifications The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in the basic science of trauma and threat X biology, physiology, countermeasures and translational science.
Experience in an academic clinical environment.
A track record of mentoring and educating at the undergraduate, graduate and post doctoral level.
The candidate should also demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills.

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:
Assistant Professor:
$90,000-$120,000 Associate Professor:
$112,000-$148,000 Professor:
$162,000-$230,000 The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
