Summary:
The person in this position will assist Cardiology Research Faculty and Primary Investigators (PIs) with developing regulatory aspects of grant proposals particularly for randomized controlled trials and multi-center studies.
Some functions include contracts and grants solicitation and administration, grant/agreement preparation, review and negotiation, regulatory compliance, sponsor communication and post and pre-award management.
Person chosen for this role will also support Research based Educational Lectures and Activities for the Division of Cardiology on an as needed basis.
Key Responsibilities Participate in program/project budget development processes and regularly reviews to ensure alignment.
Transition projects from Pre-award to Post-award in an organized and collaborative process.
Remind faculty of progress report deadlines, instructions and process Work collaboratively with the Office of Grants and Contracts (OGC) and the set-up team to ensure the award setup accurately reflects the terms and conditions of the award as well as anticipated spending; request appropriate re-budgeting from OGC and/or sponsor.
Coordinate receipt of awards and contract documentation; maintain proposal and funding records in database systems, and prepares scheduled and special reports, studies and analyses.
Work with Division Administrator to develop and implements funding announcement cycle reminders with internal deadlines and checklists.
Run monthly reports on all sponsored projects and work with the faculty each month to manage their expenses and account balances.
Participates and/or assists in special projects, and performs other associated administrative duties, as assigned.
Supervision None required, may supervise professional teams of 2 or more FTE (if hired at the Principal level).

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications Entry Level:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in public administration, social/behavioral sciences, physical sciences, finance, accounting, business administration, or business college.
Intermediate Level:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in public administration, social/behavioral sciences, physical sciences, finance, accounting, business administration, or business college.
One (1) year of Grants Management, Pre-award and/or Post-award experience.
Senior Level:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in public administration, social/behavioral sciences, physical sciences, finance, accounting, business administration, or business college.
Two (2) years of Grants Management, Pre-award and/or Post-award experience.
Principal Level:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in public administration, social/behavioral sciences, physical sciences, finance, accounting, business administration, or business college.
Three (3) years of Grants Management, Pre-award and/or Post-award experience.
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications All Levels:
One (1) to four (4)
years of progressively responsible administrative experience, including grant and contract administration.
Experience with Info Ed Proposal Development System or similar grant or contract submission software.
Experience working in an academic medical center.
Experience with NIH and pre-award grant submissions.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to communicate effectively in a timely manner, both in writing and orally.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
Outstanding customer service skills.
Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion.

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at the following:
Entry Level:
$49,572 - $63,056 Intermediate Level:
$53,946 - $68,619 Senior Level:
$58,320 - $74,183 Principal Level:
$67,068 - $85,311 The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
This position may be eligible for overtime compensation depending on the level.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
