Overall, the staff we hire will assist with managing and coordinating activities for individuals with disabilities, in an effort to help move these individuals towards greater independence and inclusion in the community.
Essential Tasks & Responsibilities Responsible for creating person-centered activities that are therapeutic in nature (such as art, exercise, music, etc.
), cognitive activities (such as easy math and word games), and sensory activities (such as cooking/food, aromatherapy, and pottery).
Facilitate group discussions and activities.
Meet individuals' needs for transportation (including driving and assisting in accessing transportation).
Work to ensure that a quality program is offered every day.
Utilize existing community resources to augment program and encourage participant use.
Maintain the physical space to ensure the health and safety of participants.
Keep daily records of attendance for participants, staff, and volunteers.
Regularly report on all participants.
Communicate any significant changes or challenges experienced by participants with Director.
Follow the highest safely standards, and meet the needs of each vulnerable participant.
Assist participants with eating, mobility, and personal care as needed.
Work within team of staff in assessing participant needs, progress, and any issues to be addressed.
Qualifications High school diploma or GED Must be at least 21 years old Have a valid driver's license, own reliable vehicle and good driving record Possess excellent oral and written communication skills Demonstrate good negotiation and organizational skills Skill in planning programs and activities Certification in CPR, First Aid, and QMAP Ability to resolve conflict under pressure when intervening with unpredictable and aggressive individuals during escalated/crisis moments, which might take place in their workplace, home, or community Ability to perform basic computer functions and math calculations necessary to carry out job responsibilities Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and a willingness to transport clients in your own vehicle Ability to perform the physical demands of the position including but not limited to:
being able to consistently lift up to 50 lbs, and physically intervening with clients that pose a safety threat to themselves or others using Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) techniques Experience with safety control or crisis prevention training is a plus Due to this position involving work with an at-risk population, a criminal background check is required One or more years of professional or personal experience with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities About Us Purdue Home Care is an agency dedicated to supporting persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) through a variety of community-based services designed to empower individuals with IDD to live as independently as possible in the community of their choice.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job.
