Do you want to be part of our growth story? Facilities Maintieance Mechanic 1 - Aurora, CO PURPOSE Preventatively and on a as needed basis maintains the facilities and equipment while providing support to internal customers.
This position solves plumbing, electrical, and HVAC issues that arise in the building and equipment.
This position is responsible for preventative maintenance tasks which include but are not limited to, filter changes, walkway clearing, battery replacement, light bulb changing, loose fixture checks, FAS system checks, etc.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Monitors, maintains, and performs standard repairs to building facilities and systems, such as tubes, fixtures, switches, outlets, faucets, ice machines, HVAC, plumbing, etc.
; assists licensed electricians with non-technical repairs as appropriate Monitors performance of heating, ventilation, and cooling systems for the facility; performs standard repair/replacement of components, as appropriate, and non-technical maintenance tasks such as cleaning of heating and cooling fan coil units and adjustment of system controls Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems Maintain and repair production equipment to ensure maximum efficiency Perform preventative maintenance and regular equipment inspections Install, repair, and maintain plumbing and electrical systems Responds to employee needs/requests in regards to desks, drawers, offices, cabinets, doors, etc.
Performs paint, drywall, and carpet repair for facility May repair kitchen equipment for on-site cafeteria May perform snow removal, as required Respond to emergency maintenance requests in a timely manner Keep accurate maintenance records and order necessary parts and supplies Follow safety procedures and adhere to OSHA regulations Familiarity with hand and power tools, and other maintenance tools Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS Education High School or GED required.
Trade School preferred.
Experience 1 to 3 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Experience and understanding of AC electrical systems, pneumatic systems, plumbing, pipe-fitting, fire life safety, HVAC, concrete repair, drywall repair, paint, and general troubleshooting.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently Ability to work well with a team as well as independently Ability to use basic hand tools and power tools Good communication and interpersonal skills Ability to read and interpret technical schematics and diagrams Strong computer skills including Google Suite Language Skills Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words in English and recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.
Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
Mathematical Skills Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and reach with arms and hands.
Standing for 8 hours and frequent walking required.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to airborne particles.
The noise level in the work environment is usually high, proper protective equipment is required.
