Summary:
The IT Business Analysis Manager of the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Colorado School of Medicine (CUSOM DEM) is responsible for planning, organizing, and managing business analytics, process improvement and project management activities while ensuring compliance with all internal and external policies and procedures of the CUSOM DEM and UCHealth.
Working closely with the Vice Chair of Operations, you will lead our Business Analytics Team of experts who partner with a variety of stakeholders to engineer and deliver informational insights (dashboards, reports, etc.
) that supports clinical decision making, drives process improvement, informs strategic decisions, and fosters a Data Driven culture.
Key
Responsibilities:
Business Analytics Own and mature a Business Analytics Strategy that aligns to our Vision and Mission, and which drives the utilization of analytics throughout a variety of UCHealth and University of Colorado Emergency Department areas, including:
oEmergency Department Service Line oUrgent Care Service Line oVirtual Urgent Care Service Line oUniversity of Colorado Emergency Department Directly manage, mentor, coach, and develop the talent of the Team.
Lead or participate in initiatives that provide relevant and timely data, strengthen trust, and keep our services at the forefront of our stakeholder's minds.
oPartner with stakeholders to ensure analytics are relevant, timely and empower teams to make data-driven decisions.
oImplement practices that maintain a high level of engagement between our stakeholders and analysts across Colorado.
This includes maintaining a deep, and sometimes localized, understanding of clinical process flows and metrics.
oDrive data governance best practices to assure our data is as relevant and as accurate as possible.
Manage the work oSuccessfully manage all current and future work (approximately 300 annual projects / work requests).
oResponsible for the quality, direction and outcomes of the Team's work.
oManage the Project Request Process and Project Delivery Framework to assure all work meets or exceeds expectations, is completed on time and with the highest quality.
oMaintain clear and frequent communications with all project stakeholders.
oWork directly with stakeholders on future projects.
Manage the technology oEnsure a high degree of data ownership and control for all related data.
oContinuously evaluate future trends in analytics to assure the best, most relevant advancements are evaluated and utilized.
oUtilize our EHR (Epic), as well as outside sources of information, to enrich the value and usefulness of our analytics.
oWork with various partners for best-in-class architecture, design and evolution of data needs.
At times, you will be required to act in the role of an individual contributor in pulling reports, building dashboards, analyzing data and providing insights to stakeholders.
Must have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Project Management Manage project implementation to achieve project goals while controlling risks, conflicts, timelines and costs.
Provide administrative support, short and long term planning, program implementation, reporting and coordination of integration efforts.
Assess new integration processes to enable business success.
Recommend prioritization of projects and the project portfolio as they relate to the installation of integration efforts.
Maintain records of all master agreements, operational business documents and system integration processes as requested/needed.
Conduct needs assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation and sustainment of change to meet organizational business objectives.
Process Improvement Work closely with key stakeholders to identify, evaluate and operationalize opportunities for process improvements and associated revenue cycle improvements and/or cost savings.
Support and help to lead process improvement teams servicing primarily across UC Health - ED Service line.
Focus on optimizing workflow processes, and communication and partnership within teams.
Monitor and improve patient flow processes, hand-offs, and care coordination.
Manage process initiatives including, but not limited to process mapping, process design/re-design, and process improvement.
Create and collaborate with teams to maintain dashboards, communication and strategy to increase effectiveness and sustainability of the improvements.

Qualifications:

Qualifications:
oA bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
A master's degree is preferred, however experience in lieu of the master's degree will be considered.
oA minimum of 5 years' experience in business analytics management.
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

oMaster's degree.
o7 years of experience in business analytics management oProgressive professional management and process improvement, process design and process mapping experience.
oLean and project management experience and experience facilitating Lean events.
oHands-on experience with well-established project management methodologies.
oExperience in patient care operations.
oPrevious higher education experience.
oStrong change management and facilitation skills.
oAbility to operate and manipulate MS Suite and PowerBI.
oExperience with policy creation, administration, and execution.

Anticipated Pay Range:
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $95,781 to $121,833.
The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
This position may be eligible for overtime compensation depending on the level.
