Commercial Controller Americas

This position reports to the Head of Business Partnering - Americas and is the financial business partner for one of three polymer units (ABS, PS, Advanced) in the Americas region.
The role leads the financial processes of the unit to ensure that Business Managers and BU Leadership have clear visibility of its P&L performance, cost structure, and KPI's and supports the business team in decision making.
He/she is responsible for the analysis of margins, costs, budgets/forecast and proactively supporting the BU in strategy and investment decisions.
In addition, a key component of the role includes process improvement and implementing data analysis automation.
What you will do:
Serve as the main finance contact for the respective business.
Monitor business and economic trends and partner with the business to plan for anticipated business changes.
Provide analysis for pricing changes based on commodity feedstock forecast.
Support the month-end close process for the business unit and the region as required.
Prepare and communicate financial results in an engaging manner to various levels of management.
Prepare and coordinate the monthly finance forecast and annual budget and present financial information to the business and regional management.
Work cross functional with sales, procurement, logistics and site operations to develop, validate and improve item/customer profitability.
Prepare ad hoc financial modeling and analysis to support the business unit/regional/global financial goals.
Seek out and implement process improvements and automation to enhance consistency and reduce complexity across the financial and non-financial environment.
Provide technical expertise and guidance for both internal policies and external reporting requirements (IFRS & GAAP) as necessary.
Support Audit requirements at the local level from all sources:
Internal Audit, External Audit, or Income Tax Audit.
Support, adopt, implement, adhere to, and promote all company policy and procedures.
Comply and enforce INEOS Styrolution responsibilities, authorities, and policies, including, but not limited, to:
ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO TS 17025, IATF 16949, GMP, Code of Conduct, SHE Policy, Environmental Policy, Quality Policy, Integral Responsibility Management System (SARI), Golden Rules, 20 Safety Management Principles, IGGN's, Clean Sweep, Life-Saving Rules, OEA and C-TPAT.
What you will bring:
Level of education & knowledge:
Bachelors/Undergraduate Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics.
An advanced degree, MBA, or CPA is highly desirable Fluency in English required.
Bilingual in Spanish a plusExperience in general:
5-7 years of progressive financial planning and analysis experience, including experience in a manufacturing and sales & marketing type company, Chemical Industry preferred Experience with segment reporting and profit center controlling / accounting.
Technical skills:
Expertise in SAP financial modules (FI & CO), and a good understanding of the integration with other modules.
Controlling experience in a manufacturing business environment Knowledge of SAP BPC, BI/Business Objects, Essbase, EDWH or other reporting tools.
Demonstrated experience with cost accounting/reporting, IFRS/GAAP, Supply Chain, Planning and Forecasting and the ability to interpret and apply company policies and procedures.
Advanced knowledge of MS Office Products:
Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Power BI a plusThe Location:
