Summary:
The Surgery Scheduler is responsible for providing outstanding customer service to both the assigned physician and patients.
The individual in this position will perform a broad spectrum of duties related to the effective and efficient scheduling of patients for outpatient visits and procedure.
This includes maintaining precise interactions with nurses, physicians, and any other departments or functions involved in the delivery of patient care services.
Key
Responsibilities:
Schedule patient visits, including completing data entry in Epic and preparing all necessary documentation within medical record for the physician to review.
Determine if there will be any insurance pre-authorization needed, and mail information packets to patients as necessary.
Obtain referrals and authorizations as necessary for all clinic patient encounters, procedures, and surgeries.
Preauthorize procedures and surgeries.
Triage new patient referrals (fax and phone); email out new patient information.
Work Location:
Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Denver, CO.

Qualifications:
Minimum
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED.
1- 2 years of patient registration and insurance processes.
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
Preferred
Qualifications:
College graduate.

years of patient/client-facing experience.
Medical office experience.
EPIC experience.
MS Office experience.
Bilingual, Spanish-speaking.
Understanding of HIPAA practices and patient confidentiality.
Conditions of Employment:
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross healthcare provider level CPR certification or certification within 90 days of hire.
Must be able to work in-person.
Must be able to travel to alternate locations as assigned.

Anticipated Pay Range:
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $48,396 to $53,244.
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
