edu The AV Support Professional in this position is a member of the Classroom Av and Events Support within the Office of Information Technology (OIT) for the University of Colorado Denver and Anschutz Medical Campuses.
This individual's responsibilities include providing depth of knowledge and high-level AV events productions, troubleshooting, and support services for a wide range of facilities campus wide.
Additionally, the AV Support Professional will be responsible for the ongoing support of education and administrative events and applications of videoconferencing resources and equipment, service support for AV equipment/computers, video and audio-visual systems and equipment used for educational and administrative purposes at the Anschutz Medical Campuses.
This position exists to assist and support faculty, staff, and students on the utilization of the various electronic media available in the Anschutz educational buildings and in other academic, research and/or clinical spaces on the campuses.
The position is primarily responsible for providing support for educational and administrative audio visual and video equipment for events and in the classrooms, including podium computers, control panels, and audio equipment, assisting faculty, staff, and students in delivering educational or other administrative content in classroom spaces.
The position also assists with the configuration, installation, and ongoing maintenance, operation and support for all audio/video and other classroom and events equipment.
The position is also responsible to assist with the management of AV control systems in assigned spaces.
This position requires occasional weekend and evening assignments.
Professional Field IT Professional - Office of Information Technology, Classroom/Video Support and Resource Supervision Received The events and classrooms support professional reports directly to the AV Manager at the Anschutz campus and receives broad to general supervision that is in alignment with the OIT strategic plan.
The assigned work is multifaceted, unstructured, and extremely technical.
The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a matrix-management environment, as well as with traditional line and staff management.
Supervision Exercised No direct supervisory responsibilities, however, this person is expected to work as a team member with other personnel in supporting events and classrooms while supporting the mission of the department and the university.
Tasks and Responsibilities Coordinates with instructors, staff, and the events coordinator to set up, support, and manage large audio video event productions on campus.
Provides proactive and reactive audio/visual technology support for multipurpose classrooms, small group learning rooms, small and large classrooms and auditoriums, and conference spaces.
Responds to calls from the classroom support help desk for assistance with installed teaching technologies including assisting with touch panels, audio and video settings, adjusting room displays and projectors, installing additional peripherals as needed, and otherwise working to meet the customer's needs.
Prepares classrooms for distance learning sessions using video and web conference equipment, or to otherwise meet the needs and requirements for campus events, including the operation of in-room cameras, microphones, and distance learning equipment to ensure quality transmissions of educational content for both students and faculty in the room as well as at the distant sites.
Assists instructors and other constituents with computers and classroom technologies such as podium computers, videoconferencing equipment, document cameras, in-room microphones and cameras, and other AV technologies.
Troubleshoots network connection issues, assists with video bridge connection issues, or other issues that prevent proper events or classroom technology functionality while collaborating with the appropriate team to resolve technical issues.
Responsible for responding to incidents or requests submitted via a department ticket system (Cherwell) and for owning the escalation processes to ensure appropriate escalation of tickets requiring tiered intervention within the division.
Completes set-ups for recorded classes or events, working with the video bridge operators to verify proper audio levels and correct camera angles, and ensures the best quality of broadcast for recording possible.
Attends meetings and/or walk-throughs with AV staff and AV integration as assigned for relevant projects.
Minimum
Qualifications:
Minimum one years of experience setting up, supporting and/or installing/integrating audio visual systems in both large and small venues Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited institution or equivalent number of years of directly related experience in the field of AV engineering, support, design, integration, and consulting.
SUBSTITUTION:
Four (4) years of experience may substitute for the required bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis, but not for the additional specific required experience.

Three years of experience setting up, supporting and/or installing/integrating audio visual systems in both large and small venues A minimum of two years' experience working in higher education Two or more years of progressive experience in classroom technology management or support Current InfoComm Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) or CTS-I, or additional industry related certification Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Must be self-motivated, self- managed, and able to adjust priorities while maintaining productivity and responding to support requests Proven work experience and knowledge in supporting projection and display, sound and speech reinforcement, audio and video conferencing, analog and digital signal processing, distribution, and control systems for audio visual and other classroom equipment technologies.
Hands on experience with projectors, control panels, full AV systems and ability to analyze problems in a natural progression General knowledge of information technology services, hardware, infrastructure, and system design Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook Solid relevant technical background with an ability to give instructions to a non-technical audience Customer-service oriented with a can-do, problem-solving attitude Excellent written and verbal communications skills, comfortable with face-to-face customer service Comfortable working independently with both minimal and specific direction as well as working as part of a team Salary and
Benefits:
The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $61,546 to $68,449.
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.
