Summary:
The Adult Division within the Department of Psychiatry has an opening for a full-time OPEN RANK - Faculty - Encompass Clinic Social Worker position.
The Encompass Clinical Social Worker of the Anschutz Medical Campus (AMC) will join the Encompass team with responsibilities for providing outpatient substance treatment and mental health care for adolescent and young adult patients with co-occurring psychiatric and substance use disorders (SUD).
Responsibilities include clinical care, leadership in program development, and some administrative functions.
The Encompass Co-occurring Disorders Clinic is located in the outpatient psychiatry clinic on the Anschutz Medical Campus (AMC).
We provide and coordinate in-person and telehealth mental health and substance treatment services to approximately 100 adolescents and young adults ages 13-29 each year.
Encompass is a unique manual-driven, evidence-based treatment that consists of an initial comprehensive psychiatric and clinical evaluation followed by 17 weekly sessions of individual motivational enhancement (MET)/cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) (may include 1-3 family sessions) contingency management (CM)/motivational incentives to reinforce abstinence and engagement in pro-social, non-drug activities.
Encompass also uses a research-based approach to evaluate and fully integrate the treatment of SUD and other co-occurring psychiatric disorders.
After completing a 2-day Encompass training the Encompass Clinical Social Worker will participate in weekly Encompass clinical team meetings that include case-driven clinical supervision with the Encompass Clinic Director to support clinical mastery and treatment fidelity.
The Encompass Clinical Social Worker will also provide Encompass treatment for adolescents participating in an ongoing NIH-funded clinical trial for substance abusing teens who have experienced significant trauma and function as a member of the clinical research team for such patients.
The Encompass Clinical Social Worker will also assist the Encompass Clinic Director in outreach efforts and provide brief consultations for youth referred by pediatric primary care providers and school-based health clinics.

Along with open rank, there may be an opportunity to work at additional clinical and/or research settings based on skillset and program needs.

The duties and responsibilities of the Encompass Clinic Social Worker position include:
Direct patient care - conduct intake evaluations and provide Encompass treatment to adolescents and young adult patients with co-occurring psychiatric and substance use disorders.
After completing a 2-day Encompass training, participate in weekly Encompass clinical supervision and clinical research team meetings.
Assist the Encompass Clinic Director with outreach to patient referral sources and referred youth and families.

Instructor:
1-3 years of related clinical experience at rank or equivalent experience.
Minimum degree
Qualifications:
LCSW or LPC with at least one-year clinical experience with adolescents in an outpatient mental health setting.
Assistant Professor:
1-3 years of related clinical experience at rank or equivalent experience.
Minimum degree
Qualifications:
PhD and/or PsyD with at least one-year clinical experience with adolescents in an outpatient mental health setting.
Preferred
Qualifications:
Two or more years' clinical experience with adolescents in outpatient mental health setting.
Addiction training and clinical experience.
Prior training and experience with cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing.
Prior training and experienced delivering manual-standardized psychotherapeutic interventions with fidelity.
Spanish speaking.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
To be successful in this position, candidates will need the following:

Willing to participate in two-day Encompass training and adhere to manual-driven procedures for delivering Encompass treatment including MET/CBT CM and administration of valid repeated measures to evaluate changes in psychiatric symptom severity and substance use throughout treatment (with support).
