The Residential House Manager is the employee in charge if the Residential Director is not present.
Residential House Manager responsibilites include the following:
Ensuring residents' programs and recreational activities are completed each day.
They have direct involvement with the clients, such as:
direct care, teaching through gentle teaching methods, field trips, and procuring needed items.
Residential House Managers are responsible for mandatory scheduling and/or attendance with Individual Educational Plans (I.
E.
P.
's), Individual Plans (I.
P.
's), Foster Care Reviews, Semi Annual Report meetings, mental health meetings, psychiatric, psychological or developmental evaluations and consultations as required, doctor appointments (must ensure that the doctor visit form is completed, copied for Maser File and filed at the facility) and individual program staffings (unless designated and approved).
Communication and documentation:
contacts with parents, caseworkers, schools and medical providers; maintenance of resident's master file and health passports; and provide updates for resident's Individual Plans (to include data collected on behavior and goals).
Fill monitor (count) and pick up medication for adequate supply.
Ensure transportation for all of clients' needs.
Residential House Managers are responsible for the training and responsibility for supervision of adequate staff, to include disciplinary actions, scheduling to ensure proper ratio and limited overtime and delegate supervision of residents at all times, sign and approve timecards and time sheets for payroll, oversee and ensure staff documentation is completed thoroughly and accurately, attend staffing meetings as required.
Residential House Managers are responsible for the direction of facility, to include:
taking and documenting phone calls, fiscal management, housekeeping tasks (to include cleanliness of home and monitoring of staff cleaning rotation / routine), transportation needs, facility maintenance (to include extinguishers and first aid kits; must report any maintenance needs to the Residential Director), vehicle maintenance (to include gas, cleanliness and tracking and reporting necessary maintenance), running and documenting drills as needed (fire drills are once a month and tornado/natural disaster drills are quarterly), laundry (maintain laundry schedule and inventory clothes to replace, as needed), cooking (to include grocery shopping, menu /snack planning and ensure that staff follow posted menu), and monitoring of safety plans.
Residential House Managers are responsible for record keeping and oversight of record keeping, to include:
updating and maintaining forms as needed, tracking and documenting necessary information, letter writing as needed, gas log, petty cash, medication sheets, data collection, fire/tornado drills, staff meeting agendas, menus, follow-up for incident reports, daily log book check, etc.
Residential House Managers are required to perform daily walk-through's in the resident homes to assure quality control in their care.
Reporting to the Residential Director any improprieties immediately.
Residential House Managers will maintain the relationships and contact maintenance with allied agencies, services, and resources within the community, participate in weekly meetings and supervision with Residential Director, be available (on call) as needed and complete in a timely and efficient manner any special projects as needed.
