Raytheon provides end-to-end space solutions - from ground control systems to on-orbit sensors - to keep our customers informed and ahead of the threatEach day, ground stations receive vast amounts of data from satellites in orbitUsing complex algorithms, they process all of the bits and bytes received and turn them into useable information for the end users who consume this dataAs the volume of data grows, ground stations need to evolve and adaptIn this role you will work onsite with a team of skilled Software Engineers developing Satellite Ground Stations Software in JavaResponsibilities to Anticipate:
Develop and maintain Java-based backend applications for satellite ground systemsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and implement robust server-side solutionsModify and improve existing codebases for enhanced performance and scalabilityConduct software design and code reviews, integrating best practices and innovationsContribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle, ensuring adherence to Agile principlesParticipate in system integration and project milestone completion under guidance from supervisorsKeep abreast of advancements in Java and related technologies to drive continuous innovationBasic
Qualifications:
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulationsSoftware development experience using JavaActive and transferable U.Sgovernment issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start dateU.Scitizenship is required, as only U.Scitizens are eligible for a security clearancePreferred
Qualifications:
Experience with C+
and PythonExperience working with the Atlassian Tool suiteExperience developing software in an Agile and/or DevOps environmentsExperience developing satellite GPS softwareExperience with one or more areas of satellite ground system software such as mission management, planning and scheduling, command and telemetry, satellite operations, or flight dynamics modelsWhat We Offer:
