Sr Software Engineer II The applicant will be filling a Responsible Engineer position for the CD O&M contract supporting software activities. Software support will consist of Echelon 1 and 2 Maintenance activities. Echelon1 maintenance responsibilities include but are not limited to: Detect, isolate, document, and restore faults or problems encountered during operations of the operational system baseline. This may include collecting diagnostic data, restoring the system to operation, rebooting, repairing, replacing, developing workarounds, and/or other activities necessary for recovery of a system. Identify any obsolete equipment associated with the operational baseline to the customer and identify recommended replacements. Update/maintain existing site documentation as a result of new site requirements and due to the resolution of DR work-off actions. Echelon 2 maintenance responsibilities include but are not limited to: Develop, test, verify, and distribute configuration changes to the operational baseline, resulting from DR actions in accordance with site configuration management policies and processes. Develop, integrate, test, verify, and distribute application software upgrades and enhancements as authorized by approved changes in accordance with the site configuration management policies and processes. Create documentation associated with new site requirements and resulting from the execution of internal development projects. Develop training courses, and conduct required training based on the implementation of DR actions, approved Request for Change (RFC) and COTS or GOTS upgrades. Required Skills: The applicant will have a minimum of 6 years of experience/knowledge in the following areas: Sun Solaris OS 2.5 LINUX 5.X, 6.X C and C coding Coding experience with CD's Distributed Status and Control (DSAC) Library Coding experience with CD's CPS and CSM products Working knowledge of CD's Software and CM policies and procedures Desired Skills: Object Oriented Design Required Education (including Major): B.S. /B.A. in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering or 14 years of equivalent experience or 4 years related work experience with a MS/MA in Engineering, Science or Mathematics.
