As a lead level DBA, you will oversee a team of DBA's while maintaining hands-on work. Additionally,you will lead the implementation of Oracle Exadata. Under general direction, administers, manages, designs, documents, and evaluates a variety of database management systems, performs complex technical, analytical and professional services involving program/member services, evaluation, data integration or transformation, database-driver West sites, office operations support and problem resolution. Provides expert advice in the use and administration of databases; responsible for defining, implementing, protecting, and maintaining complex databases. Performs related duties as assigned.
Essential Functions:
- Manages large, complex projects using budgeting and financial tracking controls.
- Develops project structure and approach with minimal statement of objective.
- Recommends strategies for the development of data definitions and meta data structures for information repository and the performance of model management activities ensuring proper alignment with organizational goals and industry directions.
- Develops high-level information architecture and ensures that the high-level business requirements are met through successful completion of tactical / strategic projects.
- Represents KP is industry standards agencies and assures incorporation of industry standards across information management projects.
- Develops high-level database architectures and ensures that database systems are consistent with information architecture and information management and industry standards.
- Establish database performance criteria and thresholds.
- Prepares research, prepares technical studies and makes recommendations.
- Prepares business requirements reports, feasibility studies, and cost justification statements.
- Researches and evaluates alternative solutions and recommends the most efficient and cost-effective database solution for the systems' design at the enterprise level.
- Evaluates methodologies / standards for fir with enterprise information architecture.
- Recommends and evaluates management and support tools that fit with enterprise architecture.
- Recommend changes to architecture to accommodate tools as needed.
- Consults with clients and development areas in the design and implementation of large complex database solutions.
- Coaches staff in consulting skills and information management skills and approaches.
- Overseas the integration of data transformation in the overall architecture.
- Consult with management and develops database troubleshooting policies, procedures, methodologies, standards, and practices.
- Leads internal / external resources in second level severity problem resolutions.
- Keep abreast of industry and enterprise security direction. Design and document database security framework to meet business and compliance needs.
- Develop DBMS migration roadmap spanning multiple platforms and technologies.
- Designs, develops configures, tests, and integrates database infrastructure system components to produce product roadmaps, system standards, and product builds of the highest complexity and process maturity spanning multiple platforms, technologies, and computing environments.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field and/or a minimum of 4 years of equivalent work experience
- A minimum of 10 years of Database Administration(DBA) experience.
- A minimum of 12 years of job related experience in Information Technology or equivalency.
- Advanced knowledge of business function / business related policies.
- Develops advanced concepts, techniques, and standards.
- Develops new applications based on professional principles and theories.
- Viewed as functional expert in field within KP.
- Applies advanced business function / business related principles, theories, and concepts.
- Contributes to the development of innovative business function / business related principles and ideas.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
