Responsible for providing administrative & operational support for the Center for Complementary Medicine & other clinical designation as assigned. Works closely w/ & supports the CCM Business Services Manager regarding operational & administrative support.
Essential Functions:
- Performs a variety of functions related to patient eligibility verification, including verifying insurance coverage w/ non-Kaiser insurance providers for MVA cases
- Will verify CPT coding for accurate billing & reconciliation of accounts
- Performs data entry into the CCM database, manipulates data, generates reports/graphs & summarizes data by calculating mathematical formulas to assist the CCM Business Service Manager
- Opens clinic each morning in preparation for patients, greets patients, provides patient reminder calls, makes appointments, routes calls & takes messages
- Registers members into various classes, answers all related questions, collects fees, sends out confirmation letters, ensures all materials are ordered & given to class facilitator
- Responsible for development & maintenance of policy & procedure manual of front desk operations
- Provides operational support to the practitioners including but not limited to room turnover & supply ordering
- In addition to defined technical requirements, accountable for consistently demonstrating service behaviors & principles defined by the KP Service Quality Credo, the KP Mission as well as specific departmental/organizational initiatives
- Also accountable for consistently demonstrating the knowledge, skills, abilities, & behaviors necessary to provide superior & culturally sensitive service to each other, to our members, & to purchasers, contracted providers & vendors
Qualifications:

Qualifications:
- 2 years of heavy telephone & business office work experience
- 1 year in membership, accounting, or customer/patient service department involved in problem resolution
- 6 months experience in the operation of a personal computer required
- HS graduation or equivalent
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate & work w/ difficult individuals & situations in a courteous manner, & to work independently
- Ability to perform a variety of functions related to membership verification, eligibility problem resolution, & non-member issues
- Effective verbal & written communication skills
- Typing speed of 40 wpm
Position is a on-call to cover vacations and sick calls. Potential days of work are Monday through Saturday.
External hires must pass a background check/drug screen.
