Primary Purpose of Position:
The Westerra IT Operations team is responsible for the Westerra Network. The Network Administrator functions as part of the Westerra IT Network and Security team to provide installation, testing, rapid troubleshooting and problem resolution to ensure high network availability. This includes implementation of new network designs, changes to and day to day operational support of existing network systems. As part of the overall Westerra IT Operations team the Network Administrator may be called upon to provide assistance with issues that are not strictly network related.
Essential Functions and percentage of time:
Design and configure network (wired and wireless) and telephony environments.
Troubleshoot networks, systems, and applications to identify routing or operational difficulties.
Install and test network equipment (routers, HP switches, firewalls, load balancers) and associated physical cabling.
Monitor data circuits, Internet, and internal networks.
Perform routine network / telecom administration and maintenance on local and remote locations. Ensure security is maintained on the network and telephony systems by utilizing security best practices. Ensure network and telephony software is patched per security regulations.
Coordinate with outside vendors and manufacturers to resolve network related problems.
Proactively support computer / network security policies, acceptable use standards and procedures.
Create, maintain, and audit network documentation.
Mentor and assist with development and knowledge transfer of peers.

Education, Experience and Certification:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related technical discipline or the equivalent combination of education, professional training or work experience.
Minimum of 3 years of network administration experience in a corporate IT environment is required. Cisco CCNA or higher certification may substitute for one year of working experience.
Network installation experience in a high availability LAN, data center or NOC environment.
Experience tracing data flows though the network to determine problem root cause.
Experience utilizing network test equipment.
Experience with VOIP, IVR systems, and telecom circuits.
Experience with network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds Orion.
Network certification required.
HP switch configuration experience required.
Cisco router experience considered a plus.
Financial institution experience considered a plus.
Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of general application protocols such as DNS, SNMP, SSH, and TFTP.
Strong verbal and written communication.
Critical thinking and listening skills.
Goal oriented and ability to meet deadlines.
Experienced in accomplishing assigned tasks using a team model while working independently.
Working Environment/Physical Requirements:
Work is performed within a normal office environment with ambient temperatures and involving occasional reaching, stretching, bending and moving about. Work in datacenter environments will be required on a frequent basis.
Participation in an on call rotation is required, as well as off-hours and weekend work as needed.
Position requires occasional local and inter-state travel.
Ability to lift 50 lbs or more.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
