Your Role:
Design and configure network (wired and wireless) and telephony environments
Troubleshoot networks, systems, and applications to identify routing or operational difficulties
Install and test network equipment (routers, HP switches, firewalls, load balancers) and associated physical cabling
Monitor data circuits, Internet, and internal networks
Perform routine network / telecom administration and maintenance on local and remote locations. Ensure security is maintained on the network and telephony systems by utilizing security best practices. Ensure network and telephony software is patched per security regulations.
Coordinate with outside vendors and manufacturers to resolve network related problems
Proactively support computer / network security policies, acceptable use standards and procedures
Create, maintain, and audit network documentation
Mentor and assist with development and knowledge transfer of peers
Other duties as needed or assigned
Background Profile:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related technical discipline or the equivalent combination of education, professional training or work experience
Minimum of 3 years of network administration experience in a corporate IT environment is required - Cisco CCNA or higher certification may substitute for one year of working experience
Network installation experience in a high availability LAN, data center or NOC environment
Experience tracing data flows though the network to determine problem root cause
Experience utilizing network test equipment
Experience with VOIP, IVR systems, and telecom circuits
Knowledge of general application protocols such as DNS, SNMP, SSH, and TFTP
Experience with network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds Orion
Network certification required
HP switch configuration experience required
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Critical thinking and listening skills
Goal oriented and ability to meet deadlines
Experienced in accomplishing assigned tasks using a team model while working independently
Cisco router experience considered a plus
Financial institution experience considered a plus
