BIT Systems needs a Software Developer to help develop and transition analytics created for our government customer into a modern cloud-computing environment.
In this position you will support the government in a multi-Int fusion lab focused on geospatial technologies, be a pathfinder towards moving geospatial data and analytics into data clouds, and provide critical supervision and care taking of an advanced cloud infrastructure. Developers will be expected to have excellent technical acumen and be highly self-directed and motivated, capable of working independently or as part of a small team. Developers should be interested in and willing to tackle hard problems in new and novel ways.
Required Skills/
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related major
- Minimum of 7 years relevant experience
- Strong understanding of Linux environments
- Strong Java skills, preferably including JEE and REST web services
- Verifiable experience with PKI Security
- Geospatial Application Development experience
Desired Skills/
Experience:
- Development Experience with MIST tool suite
- Hadoop, Accumulo and Map Reduce techniques
- Experience with installation and configuration with Hadoop and or Accumulo
- NoSQL databases like MongoDB or Cassandra
- Experience with Geospatial Consortium Standards (WMS,WFS)
- Experience with Resource Description Framework (RDF) and Associated Standars (RDF/XML, JSON-LD, SPARQL)
- Experience with Postgres SQL/PostGIS
- Demonstrate the desire and ability to provide technical support and technical mentoring to a team of talented Software Engineers
