Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery - Per diem Nights

Position Summary: This position supports the mission of The Medical Center of Aurora and Centennial Medical Plaza of optimizing the quality of life of all those served by expanding beyond the traditional focus on medical needs to the needs of the whole person. The Obstetric RN oversees and directs the care of pregnant women and their families. The Obstetric RN is responsible for the care of pregnant patients and their families in antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum periods. In addition, the obstetric RN cares for the patient during vaginal and cesarean delivery, as well as other OB surgical procedures. Serves as primary nurse leading the collaboration of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. Oversees and directs the care of assistive personnel, maintaining final accountability for the care given to assigned patients. When the need arises, will perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:
Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse; current BLS - Healthcare provider . NRP, OB ACLS, and Advanced Fetal Monitoring required within the first 6 months of hire and maintained current.
Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. BSN Preferred.
Experience: One-year experience in Labor/Delivery required.
Special Qualifications: Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and other health care team members. Ability to manage a team and work with others within a team to ensure quality patient care. Strong critical thinking skills.
Degree of supervision required: Involves general guidance and direction by the Patient Care Director, Nurse Manager and Unit Charge Nurse. Employee will be expected to perform most job duties independently and in accordance with established departmental and hospital policies and procedures.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
