Summary ? Director of Patient Services RN
Directs the department's activities and resources to ensure alignment with the mission, values, and objectives of the department and organization.
Job duties
The Director of Patient Services will strive to Support the 5 components of the Magnet Model of: Transformational Leadership Structural Empowerment Exemplary Professional Practice New Knowledge, Innovation and Improvements Empirical Outcomes
Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the administrative, legal and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization.
Directs and evaluates departmental operations, including information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives.
Plans and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives.
Prepares, monitors, and evaluates departmental budgets, and ensures that the department operates in compliance with allocated funding. Coordinates and directs internal/external audits.
Collaborates with Perioperative services team consisting of Periop business manager, educators, research scientist, and other managers.
Coaches charge nurses, team leaders, and other staff in the development of management and leadership skills.
Ensures ongoing competency and compliance in collaboration with Human Resources, Professional Resources, and other regulatory bodies.
Compiles, interprets and communicates financial information and objectives to various audiences including staff, physicians and management.
Ability to direct and oversee activities of UCHealth's 25 current ORs with high growth of acuity procedures
Requirements
Master's Degree in Nursing or Administration
5 years of leadership experience. Preferred: experience with multiple units.
State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast paced environment, and take appropriate action.

Experience overseeing upwards of 20+ ORs

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
