Licensure/Certification/Registration: Completion of an accredited Surgical Technician program. Registration as a surgical tech through the State of Colorado Required. Certification preferred. BLS from the American Heart Association required.
Education: Graduate of Surgical Technician Program required.
Experience: One to two years experience as surgical technician preferred.
Special Qualifications: Basic to advanced knowledge in the scrub role and responsibilities for multiple surgical specialties (i.e. Total Joints, Ophthalmology/Retinal, Vascular, Neuro - to include carotoids, carpal tunnels, stereotactic work, Pediatrics, Major Orthopedics, Limb Pres). Demonstrates good organizational skills, communicates positively and professionally with all internal and external customers. Knowledgeable in sterile technique, set up and maintenance of sterile field, surgical instruments and equipment. Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 pounds
