The Perioperative Services Operations Manager, under the supervision of the Director of Perioperative Services is responsible for the development and implementation of the business activities for Perioperative Services at Memorial Health System. Provides oversight for financial operations to include monitoring and management of net budgeted operations for the Perioperative Division to ensure overall financial success for Perioperative Services. This includes generation of revenue and management of expenses related to utilization of all resources (supplies, equipment and personnel). Provides leadership to ensure success in analyzing and monitoring the internal and external environment affecting the department, investigating and clarifying new opportunities. Responsibilities includes data collection, analysis & problem solving, forecasting resource needs, working with external agencies to streamline throughput, recommendations for new service delivery methods, the development and promotion of new business opportunities. This position requires expertise in project management, strategic planning, marketing and establishing relationships with all stakeholders (clinicians, physicians, external agencies, etc.). Assists the Nursing Director in all functions and activities to ensure efficient daily operations, best practice in the delivery of patient care and optimization of the patient care experience. This includes assistance with clinical operations, administrative call, crisis management and other responsibilities as delegated. Provides direct supervision to the Perioperative Services Department, chart/charge auditors, inventory personnel, schedulers and other staff as determined by the Nursing Director. The Perioperative Services Operations Manager is accountable for excellence in leadership to be a role model. Provides leadership for Perioperative Services in relation to Information Services, Facilities and Purchasing. Reports to Nursing Director of Perioperative Services.
Job Duties
Provides leadership and direction for the management of all expenses in Perioperative Services
Monitors the inventory of supply par levels in addition to medical supplies and equipment to be ordered from scheduled vendors
Monitors back orders to confirm stock levels of specific items
Functions as the primary contact for vendors and facilities department for Perioperative Services
Provides leadership and direction for coordination with Materials Management
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or closely related field of study
5 years of relevant work/experience in surgical services
2 years of previous management/leadership experience
Accurate record keeping
Demonstrates expertise in system/resource management

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
