Director of Partnerships and Alliances

We are looking for an experienced executive to identify and drive new revenue streams from the broader travel eco-system leveraging Travelport s data & technology assets. Target customers may include companies that are meta-search, search engines, social media, start-ups etc.
The role will also be focused on leveraging partnerships to source technology capabilities as part of a broader product strategy.
This is a high profile position with heavy interaction with Senior Leaders of the business. Working independently but as part of a bigger Global Partnerships & Alliances team the ideal candidate is a mix of entrepreneur, negotiator, product strategist, salesperson and alliance manager.
Main Accountabilities:
Business Development: The selected individual will have full responsibility and accountability for driving new revenue streams from existing and new partners. Key requirement will be to work across the organization to ensure delivery of value proposition.
Relationship management: Must create visibility and build relationships in the travel industry community. In addition, this position requires important collaboration with various internal constituencies.
Deal Structuring: Negotiate and structure commercial deals of varying complexity. Must have experience creating business cases and presenting to all levels of management. In addition, have experience with contracts and be comfortable working with various internal groups including product, finance and legal.
Team Environment: It is essential for the individual to be comfortable in a team environment and work with various teams globally.
Knowledge, Skills, Experience, Training, Education:
10 to 15 years experience working in a business development, start-up, strategy, investment banking or consulting role. Travel and/or e-commerce/technology industry experience required with experience in a large platform company or a successful startup a plus.
Demonstrated experience in managing and creating value-added third party relationships with outstanding communication, presentation and analytical skills. Financial modeling skills a must.
Strong foundation in contract negotiation and management including integration of elements from partnering groups such as finance, legal and product.
Passion for startups, developers and the business of innovation.
Proven ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects, and work under pressure with demonstrated ability to be self-motivated, resourceful, generate strategic insights and new business ideas.
Must have prior experience managing people as the future direction is to ultimately build a team in this market .
This position reports directly to the Vice President, Global Partnerships & Alliances as part of the Global Technology Organization
MBA or equivalent preferred.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
