Summary
Collaborates with Perioperative leaders to develop, manage, and monitor perioperative performance improvement, patient outcomes, and patient safety initiatives. Guides the participation of staff in improving team communications, executing patient safety goals, enhancing a culture of safety and communication in the Perioperative setting. Develops, coordinates and/or manages performance improvement collaborative programs with Quality, Patient Safety, Infection Control, and Risk specialists.
Job Duties
Assists in promoting patient safety and maintaining compliance with the Joint Commission standards and National Patient Safety Goals, SCIP, other internal and external regulatory quality/patient safety standards, such of those as the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, CMS, and Code of Conduct.
Facilitate performance improvement activities within perioperative services. Acts as both technical and cultural change agent.
Collaborates and facilitates with department leadership in developing Evidence Based Practice and implementing process changes for safer patient care. Successfully integrates patient safety principles into current and future processes/practices.
Develops strong, positive relationships with all members of the perioperative and quality/patient safety/infection control and risk teams. Support the surgical teams participating in Crew Resource Management training. Ensures that briefings, debriefings, and other elements of team communication occur.
Facilitates/coordinates or helps with team patient safety training and education.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. Preferred: Master's degree.
3 years of experience in perioperative nursing
2 years of leadership experience, including decision-making;coaching, teaching and counseling skills; and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others and to forge alliances and garner support
Communication and interpersonal skills including persuasion and negotiation
Experience in collecting and analyzing data
State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire. All life support certification cards must be issued by either the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer. (American Red Cross for the Professional Rescuer is only good upon hire and all renewals will need to be through an American Heart Association sanctioned course.)
Preferred: Project management skills, including the ability to identify stakeholders, plan steps, coordinate and allocate resources to accomplish goals in a timely manner

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
