Summary - Medication Access Specialist
Responsible for providing access to medications for patients by completing Prior Authorization Requests (PAR), Co-pay Assistance Programs, Medication Assistance Programs, benefits investigation, and managing PAR renewals.
Job Duties
Coordinate with third-party insurance, clinical staff, and patients to effectively process prior authorization requests for medications within the prescribed timelines. Compile clinical documentation for prior authorizations (ex: progress notes, labs, diagnoses codes, previously tried therapies, ASO criteria, doctor visits).
Directly enroll eligible patients into manufacturer patient assistance and co-pay programs.
Customer service, verbal and written communication, partnering, and problem-solving. Excellent customer relations. PC competencies including word processing and creating and maintaining Excel spreadsheets.
Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent
2 years pharmacy technician experience
Preferred
Prior authorization, co-pay assistance, medication program assistance and/or benefits verification or equivalent experience.
Pharmacy Technician National Certification OR certified medical assistant
Prior experience working within a Hospital system preferred.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
