It is recommended that you complete the assessment in a quiet setting without distractions.The Assistant Branch Manager I is primarily responsible for assisting the Branch Manager in leading a team of employees both directly and indirectly, to ensure the branch collectively achieves key performance indicators to increase branch profitability, acquisition of new client households, the expansion and retention of existing personal and business relationships. This position also includes the oversight of compliance and audit soundness. The level assigned to each branch reflects its size, profitability, contribution and operational complexity.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manages the day-to-day branch teller and client service operations including research and resolution of the most complex problems; assumes management responsibility in the absence of the Branch Manager.
- Performs the required duties to open new deposit accounts, completes consumer loan applications, and closes consumer loans, providing quality client service.
- Ensures the development of department programs to comply with internal control, audit, security, and compliance policies and procedures.
- Assists the Branch Manager in developing and implementing a program for consumer business development and sales promotion for the assigned branch; provides leadership for the in-branch consumer sales activities; prepares materials for meetings and encourages staff participation.
- Exercises the usual authority of an assistant manager concerning staffing, scheduling, performance appraisals, promotions, and employee salary recommendations to achieve maximum operating efficiency.
- Ensures account retention through quality customer service, sales and referrals by setting individual and team goals, conducting regular service skills review meetings, employee cross-training and promoting regular employee feedback.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
- Working knowledge of financial products and services
- Good interpersonal skills including oral and written communication skills, sales and customer relations skills
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) in order to reconcile accounts
- Working knowledge of PCThis level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of an Associate's degree in a business related field and 1 year supervisory experience in a financial institution or equivalent experience of 4 years.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
