A Cardiac Electrophysiology (CEP) RN is a nurse who has been trained to care for patients undergoing procedures specific to abnormal electrical conduction of the heart. As a CEP RN, you will assist in radiofrequency ablations related to all cardiac arrhythmias, such as atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia. You will also participate in care of patients during pacemaker and ICD implants, laser lead extractions and cardioversions.
As a CEP RN you will administer conscious sedation, monitor and treat arrhythmias with medications, and perform cardiac pacing and defibrillation. You will also receive education in aseptic technique, device interrogation and specialty training related to the specifics of CEP. This career will drive continued learning for years to come and allow you to serve as an expert in a specialty field.

Job duties:
Conducts systematic, continuous and comprehensive assessments of patient health status from admission or encounter to discharge across the care continuum to ensure patient safety, collaborating with the healthcare team and family. Care addresses all aspects of the individual and family, including age, gender, spiritual, cultural, physical, psychosocial and patient preferences. Proactively uses safety surveillance to prevent adverse outcomes.
Independently administers medications per licensure authority, assess and reassesses the effects of these medications, and documents administration in a timely manner per policies, procedures and regulatory requirements. Consistently adheres to patient safety guidelines regarding all aspects of medication administration.
Requirements (education, licensures, certification)
Graduate of an accredited Registered/Professional Nursing program if less than 3 years experience. A BSN is required for new hires or must be obtained within three years of acceptance of the position.
6 months nursing experience.
State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire. All life support certification cards must be issued by either the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer. (American Red Cross for the Professional Rescuer is only good upon hire and all renewals will need to be through an American Heart Association sanctioned course.) ACLS through the American Heart Association with card in-hand before start date, and current AHA ACLS must be good through sixty days of hire

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
