Manager Housekeeping

I. Position Summary: This position supports the mission of The Medical Center of Aurora/Centennial Medical Plaza of optimizing the quality of life of all those served by expanding beyond traditional focus on medical needs to the needs of the whole person. Under direct supervision of the Environmental Services Director, Evening Manager provides leadership and guidance to the operations of the shift assigned. Supervises day-to-day work activities by delegating authority, assigning and prioritizing activities, and monitoring operating standards. Establishes a safe work environment for employees by performing safety audits and inspections, conducting safety-related training, and maintaining on-going communications with employees. Monitor and enforce Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement standards. Provides team leadership by ensuring cohesiveness at the unit and with customers.

II. Position Requirements:
A. Licensure/Certification/Registration:
B. Education: College degree preferred
C. Experience: Prior experience sufficient to demonstrate leadership ability, as well as working knowledge of housekeeping techniques and equipment
D. Special Qualifications: Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey information that may be somewhat complex, and/or to others who may have limited knowledge of the subject in question. Role may require basic negotiation and influence, cooperation, tact and diplomacy, etc The ability and willingness to be aware of, understand, respect, and value the diverse cultural, ethnic, gender, age, educational, professional, etc. backgrounds and styles of others and to adapt one's own behavior based on that understanding. The ability and willingness to provide excellent service to external/internal customers. The ability and willingness to delegate the authority to complete work activities, giving clear direction as to what needs to be done, and monitoring performance against a predetermined deadline and/or measure of quality to ensure quality and timely completion of assignments
III. Degree of supervision required: Involves general guidance and direction by the Associate Administrator. Employee will be expected to perform most job duties independently and in accordance with established departmental and hospital policies and procedures.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
