This is part time 3rd shift night position, 48 hours bi-weekly
Summary - RN NICU
Provides direct patient care using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.
UCH's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
This is a pert time RN role in UCH's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is a 50-bed level 3B Nursery caring for pre-term and critically ill newborns. The NICU is a regional referral center for extremely premature infants. We care for babies with a variety of medical/surgical problems. Our multidisciplinary team approach incorporates input from parents, primary care nurses, physicians, neonatal nurse practitioners, physical therapists, respiratory therapists, and lactation consultants, a neonatal dietician, case management, and social work. Our focus is on family-centered care and patient outcomes to promote the best care for patients and families during their NICU stay.
Job duties
Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate. Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs. Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances. Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary personnel. May precept student nurses and new hires.
Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast paced environment, and take appropriate action. Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
BSN from an accredited Registered/Professional Nursing program
6 months nursing experience.
State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN). Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider and any relevant unit certification requirement.
BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire. All life support certification cards must be issued by either the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer. (American Red Cross for the Professional Rescuer is only good upon hire and all renewals will need to be through an American Heart Association sanctioned course.)
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certified
1 year Nursing Experience in NICU or Pediatric ICU

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
