Job Summary:
The University of Colorado Denver - Anschutz Medical Campus is seeking applications for a Finance and Human Resources Coordinator. This full-time, University Staff (non-classified) position will provide financial management, as well as HR and faculty affairs support to the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R). This position will be responsible for overseeing financial functions throughout the Department, primarily related to budgeting, payroll, funding, procurement, etc. This Finance and HR Coordinator will also be responsible for coordinating the human resources and faculty affair operations of PM&R, including Adult and Pediatric Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the Physical Therapy Program. This role will work closely with the program directors & department administrator in order to educate and enforce Human Resource related policies and procedures, and develop effective working relationships with other departments and external entities. This position will administrator applicable State, and Federal laws and standards applying to human resources and business management (related to personnel, accounting, auditing, etc.).
In collaboration with the Department Chair and DFA, this position will develop strategies and processes that contribute to the mission of the University, campus, and PM&R. In addition, this Finance and HR Coordinator will facilitate faculty and staff orientations/trainings, as well as manage a variety of divisional special projects.
Examples of Work Performed:
Financial Management:
+ Manages the funding and associated changes related to personnel within the department; this will include Journal Entries, Suspense Reports, Payroll Expense Transfers, and Funding Distributions, etc.
+ Works closely with the Administration, Research and Academic units in order to ensure that pay is correct and funding sources are accurate and documented.
+ Processes various reimbursements and expenses related to hiring, onboarding, credentialing, etc.
+ Supports all procurement functions in conjunction with other staff as needed.
+ Works with the DFA in order to develop and distribute financial reports related to clinical and department performance at the administrative and individual level.
+ Creates and distributes Monthly Clinical Financial reports for the department and leadership.
+ Produces finance reports related to personnel and payroll, as well as other Department financial areas such as clinical, research, and education.
+ Creates models for the annual raise process including auditing and updating Table 1.
+ Works with Department personnel in order to develop and implement systems that accommodate salary funding issues, including: suspense reports, PETs, and funding distributions.
+ Processes procurements and reimbursements for all phases of hiring and onboarding new employees; processes department procurement and purchasing requests as needed.
+ Processes journal entries and other accounting entries as needed.
+ Collaborates with the Financial and Systems Office in order to ensure that finances are accurate and that any discrepancies are reconciled.
+ Conducts financial audits on a regular basis.
+ Performs other financial duties as assigned.
Human Resources:
+ Acts as the primary personnel liaison for the Department of PM&R, including the Physical Therapy Program, Adult & Pediatric PM&R; Serves as the department liaison with the HR Core.
+ Consults with Department Leadership in order to ensure all staffing needs are met.
+ Creates position descriptions in CU Careers; staffs, serves on and/or coordinates official search committees.
+ Provides guidance to search committee members.
+ Enters position data and funding in HCM and adjust as needed.
+ Processes a variety of personnel forms including all new hire paperwork and conducts required processes in School of Medicine, UPI, PeopleSoft or other systems.
+ Creates and finalizes all letters of offer ensuring compliance with all applicable policy and procedures.
+ Coordinates and supports the faculty credentialing process to ensure timely completion and exceptional service.
+ Completes all time entry and leave report collections ensuring accuracy and compliance.
+ Completes all administrative tasks related to staffing, recruitment and human resources.
+ Coordinates all related recognition programs and events related to faculty and staff.
+ Works with the program directors and staff on all HR related issues and projects.
+ Acts as the main departmental point of contact for all faculty and staff regarding HR and Faculty Affairs Policy and Procedures.
+ Updates all faculty and staff statuses, job code changes, promotions, FMLA, terminations etc.
+ Enters leave for employees.
+ Provides orientation and training for new faculty and staff in relation to HR policies and procedures.
+ Submits and approves all UCD (and other) key and badge requests.
+ Manages the annual evaluation process for all Faculty, University & Classified Staff.
+ Ensures compliance with all Federal, State and University policies & procedures.
+ Attends meetings and trainings as appropriate at the division, department and organizational level.
+ Develops and tracks training needs and compliance for faculty and staff; this includes COI, certifications, etc.
+ Creates and maintains a highly organized filing system for all required HR files.
Faculty Affairs:
+ Manages the faculty affairs and credentialing functions of the Department under the direction and guidance of the Director of Finance and Administration and the Chair of the Department of PM&R.
+ Provides support, training and coaching in faculty and academic matters.
+ Oversees the recruitment/credentialing activities of regular faculty, paid and clinical faculty.
+ Provides education and training to faculty and administration in the recruitment process ensuring compliance with University and Regent fiscal policies.
+ Maintains faculty recruitment files in compliance with HR and Faculty Affairs standards.
+ Coordinates Department Advancement Committee (DAC).
+ Works directly with Chair of the Promotion Committee, as well as the Committee itself, to coordinate the submission of faculty promotion and tenure materials to the School of Medicine.
+ Acts as a liaison between Chair of the Department/DFA and the faculty in relation to promotion and tenure activities.
+ Oversees committee meetings and committee member reviews as directed by the Chair.
+ Audits all dossiers and works with faculty on any necessary modifications in order to meet requirements prior to submitting to the School of Medicine.
+ Assists Director and Chair with other faculty related issues as needed.
+ Serves as resource for faculty and department leadership on using DOMINO for faculty annual performance evaluations including reporting and other functions.
+ Manages volunteer faculty within the Department of PM&R which includes obtaining a full application for any individual interested in volunteering with the Department.
+ Tracks and reports all volunteer appointments.
+ Responsible for recognition and appreciation for all volunteer appointments.

Salary and Benefits:
The hiring salary for this position is commensurate with skills and experience. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.

Minimum Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's degree in public health, health administration, business administration or education or similar field.
+ Two (2) years' of professional experience working in an academic, medical, or equivalent environment.
Substitution:A combination of education and/or relevant experience may substitute for the degree on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Three (3) or more years of experience working in an academic, medical, or equivalent environment.
+ Previous experience and training in the CU GME and Human Resources policies, processes and systems which include; ACGME WebADS, PeopleSoft HCM, CU Careers, & DOMINO.
+ Experience working with University of Colorado systems (ex. PeopleSoft HCM and FIS, Concur, etc.)
+ Financial management experience.
+ Human Resources and/or recruiting experience.
+ Experiencing working in an academic healthcare environment.
+ Experience with Faculty credentialing and promotion track oversight.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
