Job Summary:
The Adult and Child Consortium for Health Outcomes Research and Delivery Science (ACCORDS) and the D4: Data Driven Discovery and Decision Science Program, are seeking applications for a Software Development Professional. This full-time, University Staff (non-classified) position is responsible for the design and development of databases, data queries, and other technologies in order to support ACCORDS's and D4's research and administration needs. This position will execute a variety of complex tasks and requires a thorough knowledge of desktop and web-based application programming tools and techniques. It also requires superb communication and customer service skills.
Examples of Work Performed: As a key member of a critical team within ACCORDS, this position encompasses a wide variety of responsibilities. Some specific examples include:
Software Development:
+ Writes, tests, and debugs software systems and databases according to software development best practices.
+ Creates requirement, design, and testing documentation as necessary to support complex software development efforts.
+ Implements improvements to existing data models, user interfaces, web services, reports, etc.
+ Creates system and software technical designs for new web applications.
+ Actively keeps abreast of new technical trends in IT and Research Informatics, surfacing ideas for technical direction, system improvements, and new service opportunities.
IT & Research Informatics Support:
+ Tracks and resolves technical support requests from users.
+ Conducts code reviews on the development efforts of other programmers.
+ Consults with other developers on bug fixes and optimal software designs.
End-User & Technical Support:
+ Conducts requirement gathering meetings with customers and technical personnel.
+ Develops project timelines and regularly communicates progress and issues to customers and stakeholders.
+ Meets with customers and team members in order to review outstanding requests for system enhancements and fixes, prioritize them, and agree upon a plan to complete them.
Salary and Benefits:
The hiring salary for this position is commensurate with skills and experience. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a computer science, computer programming, informatics, or closely related field.
+ Two (2) years of full-time professional experience in software development, information technology, research informatics, or other similar role.
Substitution: A combination of education and relevant work experience may substitute for the degree on a year-for-year basis (ex. Associate's degree in a related field, plus 2 additional years of professional experience OR 4 years of additional related experience). A master's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, computer programming, informatics or a closely related field may be substituted for the bachelor's degree and the two years of professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Experience developing desktop and web-based applications using Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 or greater.
+ Experience developing browser-based web applications using MS SQL Server, C#, ASP.NET. MVC.
+ Experience developing and deploying reports using Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services.
+ Experience developing web applications optimized for mobile devices.
+ Experience working with secure web services, like WCF, REST and web API.
+ SAS and R coding experience.
+ Experience with JSON and XML.
+ Experience with software development lifecycle tools: GitHub, FogBugz.
+ Server deployment experience.
+ User interface design experience.
+ Experience with multi-threading programming and other parallel processing techniques is a plus.
+ Experience in SQL Server 2008 R2/2012 development.
+ HTML, XML, JavaScript, and .CSS experience.
+ Experience creating documentation and testing procedures.

+ Ability and the willingness to work as a team member with other software developers.
+ Ability to work with a high degree of independence and latitude.
+ Exceptional data modeling and object-oriented software development skills.
+ Proficiency in software debugging and troubleshooting.
+ Ability to develop software in C#, Java, T-SQL, Visual Studio 2013.
+ Familiarity with multiple software development lifecycle methodologies, including traditional (waterfall) and agile approaches.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
