This position performs a variety of duties to assist senior and disabled citizens in their homes by providing housecleaning, laundry, and shopping services.
The goal of the Homemaker program is to assist Arapahoe County residents in maintaining their independence in a safe and healthy environment.

Performs a variety of duties to assist senior and disabled citizens in their homes by providing housecleaning, laundry, and shopping services.
Performs a variety of housecleaning duties for clients to include: cleaning of bathroom, kitchen floors, stove and refrigerator, vacuuming rugs, dusting furniture and appliances, laundry, and changing bed linen.
Shops for groceries for client as needed.
Perform errands for client as needed.
Completes Homemaker report to include specific services rendered.
Keeps log of time worked and mileage used.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
No specific requirement.
Experience working with senior and disabled citizens is helpful.
Any equivalent combination of education and experience that satisfy the requirements of the job.
Pre-employment testing includes an acceptable current motor vehicle check, background check, physical capabilities examination and drug screen.
Must possess or have the ability to obtain, a Class "R" Colorado driver's license within two weeks of appointment. A good driving record is required. Must have a personal vehicle available for work related transportation. Possession of a Colorado Class "R" driver's license or the ability to obtain one within two weeks of appointment. Must have adequate motor vehicle insurance.
Must have a mobile telephone.
Familiarity with the issues and problems related to senior and disabled citizens.
Knowledge of housekeeping procedures.
Skill in the use of housekeeping materials and tools.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with superiors, fellow workers and serviced citizens.

Supervision is received from Program Coordinator.
Work is characterized by the performance of simple tasks to accomplish goals.
Considerable contact with senior and disabled citizens.
Work is performed in the homes of serviced clients.

Remains sitting 20% of the time and stands or walks 80% of the time while performing service work.
Frequently lifts, pushes, pulls, or carries up to 25 lbs. when moving vacuum and performing duties.
Occasionally climbs, kneels, and handles objects while performing various services.
Frequently stoops, crouches, or reaches while performing services.
Frequently involved in interpersonal auditory and oral interaction.
Utilizes full scope of visual capacity in order to operate cleaning equipment and vehicle.
Frequent use of eye, hand, and finger coordination enabling performance of duties and operation of equipment.
Physical capacity to safely operate an automobile.
Occasionally: Activity exists less than 1/3 of the time.
Frequently : Activity exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time.
Constantly : Activity exists more than 2/3 of the time.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
