  • Generate new business by cold calling, making sales presentations, and creating referral accounts to close business with wound care clinics, physicians and clinical personnel in hospitals and home health agencies. Responsible for all paperwork involving insurance pre-authorization, purchasing equipment, and keeping records of inventory and stocking equipment.

Reported to the Clinical Laboratory Director and the Clinical Laboratory Medical Director and managed three Client Service Coordinators. I managed all client relations as well as sales for five clinical reference laboratories and monitored all referral revenues for outside accounts.

  • Created and implemented new client services program and effectively established a communications department for all outside calls and referral business.
  • Effectively developed and co-managed a client service coordinator staff and all referral sales operations which created a smooth workflow for screening referral calls and directed them to appropriate department so action could be taken in the areas of client service or sales.

Sales and Marketing Manager (1991-2000)

Reported to the Vice President of Health Initiatives and managed laboratory marketing program for the clinical laboratories.  Developed and implemented marketing/client services program for five clinical laboratories including local and national referral laboratory testing.  Aggressively contracted with major clinical reference laboratories and medical facilities on a national level.

  • Developed, implemented and managed a strategic marketing plan for the clinical laboratory’s first national marketing program which increased overall sales from $250,000 to more than $4 million annually.
  • Generated new business by making sales presentations, attending trade shows, and effectively negotiating contracts with major hospitals, reference laboratories, and key medical facilities on a national basis.  This increased awareness in the marketplace allowing the clinical laboratories to become a major competitor in the field of esoteric immunology testing within 5 years.
