For Sale: 1966 Chevrolet Pickup in Aurora , Colorado for sale in Aurora, CO

Vehicle Description 1966 Chevy 4x4 truck, long bed fleet side.
Originally a 1/2 ton (K15), one of 1976 made in 1966.
Now it is a 3/4 ton (technically a K25) with a Dana 44 front axle with disc brakes, and a GM 14 bolt rear, both with 4:
11 gearing.
This is not a show truck, yet, but could be with some cosmetic work.
In its current state this is a very reliable daily driver, classic work truck, or Bugout vehicle.
In the last 4500 miles, almost everything mechanical and electrical has been replaced, rebuilt or refreshed.
The engine is a 350 small block, original 4 speed sm420 transmission, original Rockwell T221 divorced transfer case, and a 25 gallon under bed fuel tank.
The truck has been completely rewired using an Autowire Classic Update Kit.
A new 1 wire 100 amp alternator was installed.
Dolphin gauges were used with a programmable speedometer for any tire size (currently rides on 4 new BFG AT KO2 235/85/16 tires).
All dash switches are new and all lights work.
There is an LED third brake light and 4 pin trailer wiring.
The stereo and speakers are new as well.
The engine was pulled and internally found to be in great shape so it was treated to new gaskets and motor mounts.
I currently use synthetic oils in the engine, gear boxes and differentials.
Also installed at that time were new valve covers, new timing chain and cover, new intake manifold with rebuilt Carter AFB carburetor, and Sanderson headers.
Also replaced the radiator, heater core, and related hoses.
The transmission was pulled and rebuilt.
The clutch, flywheel, and related linkages were replaced.
The transfer case has been resealed.
The two front driveshafts were custom made and all three driveshafts received new u-joints and slip yokes.
Both axles have been rebuilt with new bearings, seals, and brakes.
The front has disc brakes with new calipers, and the rear has the massive 13 inch brake drums with new cylinders, shoes, and hardware.
The parking brake is fully functional.
The manual steering gear box was pulled and rebuilt.
Also any steering linkage in question was replaced.
New shock absorbers have been installed.
The dual exhaust is new from the headers to the tail pipes.
Any welded joints were painted with POR 15 high temp manifold paint to prevent rust.
The interior currently has Saddle Blanket seat covers over the original worn out upholstery.
Three new seat belts were installed, two being shoulder harness type.
Also the heater controls and hoses are new.
ABS kick panels are installed with refurbished kick panel air vents.
The dome and glove box lights work and under dash courtesy lights were added.
The fuel tank behind the seat was not present when I purchased the truck.
But I replaced the under bed tank and ran all new fuel lines.
New door locks and ignition switch were added so the the glove box, doors, and ignition are all on the same key.
This vehicle is currently a 20 footer.
The previous owner had a painting business and spilled stuff on it.
There are scratches, dings, and the windshield has a star from a rock chip.
The body and frame are pretty solid but there is evidence of some bondo, like where the original fuel cap was.
I'm not a welder or body man, but have treated any underbody rust with POR 15 products.
The doors are the worst part, which is why they have not been refurbished.
Some stereo shop hacked in speakers and the doors have rust.
Two solid doors, with full glass, are included with the sale.
They will require painting, mirrors, and a weatherstripping kit.
The wood bed slats appear to be reclaimed barn wood.
I keep them treated and covered with plywood when I use the truck to carry stuff.
With the sale you get about $1000 in parts.
Included are a pair of solid doors with full glass, original gauge cluster, 2 unrestored kick panel vents, an uncut dash (try and find one) as the current one has been hacked into for a stereo, and a few other parts.
I like the truck just as it is.
I'm not afraid to drive it in the snow, throw fire wood in it, or park in a crowded lot.
The four wheel drive works perfectly.
In fact I rescued my Landcruiser with this truck when it got stuck in snow off-road in the mountains.
It's a very dependable truck as is, with no computers to fail you.
But it would really shine and appreciate in value with attention to the body and paint.
I need the money and more importantly the space it takes up in my garage.
I won't leave it outside, so I'm selling it.
Asking $18,500 OBO which I think is fair given the time and money spent making this a reliable and safe classic ride.
Most of the 4x4 trucks were ridden hard and put away wet, left broken and rotting in a field.
So these aren't abundant out there.
The chassis number indicates this was number 1817 of the 1976 produced.
Though not original, it retains the rugged good looks it was meant to have, with the added bonus of an upgraded drivetrain.
The odometer reading of 2900 is mileage since complete rewire.
Previously, the original odometer read 116,000.
The truck is located in the Denver area.
I have a clean Title in hand.
Thanks for looking.
